Effect of postharvest visible spectrum LED lighting on quality and bioactive compounds of tomatoes during shelf life

چکیده
The objective was to evaluate the effect of visible spectrum LED lighting during shelf-life on physicochemical quality and main bioactive compounds Kumato® cherry tomatoes. Tomatoes were stored 13 days at 5 °C under white (W), blue (B), + red (B R), green (G far-red FR) lights. Darkness (D) used as control. illumination showed higher weight losses firmness decreases (30–35%). No chilling injury observed. B R increased carotenoid content by ∼27%, while G FR reported an increase ∼30% in phenolics. highest phytochemical biosynthesis (lycopene naringenin, flavonoid found) compared D W. Conclusively, with or is recommended enhance compounds. FR, also be good elicitors phenolics carotenoids biosynthesis.
